Community Programs.

Our desire is to serve, help, and love our community through the programs we run.

Community Meal.

In April 2020, during the first wave of the pandemic, we began serving a hot take-out meal every Thursday at noon. We currently serve around 150 meals weekly and since the start of our program have served over 30, 000 meals. Our program serves primarily the Chesley community, but we also deliver meals to Elmwood, Hanover, Durham, and other communities, as needed.

Our demographic varies, from seniors, to single parents, to those facing crisis, health problems, or living alone. Our take-out meals are available to anyone and all are welcome. We do not charge for meals. We work closely with United Way who have helped us since the start of our program. We also rely on our many volunteers to make this happen each week . We are funded by grants we receive and general donations. Please see our donate page if you would like to give to this program. For inquiries please contact 519-377-4382.

  • Clothing Closet.

At Chesley Baptist we have a community clothing closet. We aim to have new or lightly used clothing, basic hygiene items and other necessary items for living.

We rely on donations to provide this service to the community. If you are interested in donating, please contact us.

Items we are always in need of: shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, soap, feminine hygiene products

  • Coffee Time.

In the past, we ran a coffee time every Tuesday at the church. We provided coffee and often pancakes or eggs, fruit and muffins, depending on what we had or what food donations came in. It ran outdoors, and was a place for anyone to stop by and find something to eat and a sense of community.

This program is not currently available, but we hope to start it again soon. You can check here or follow us on social media for updates.

  • "The meals and pies were amazing and the meals you offer on Thursdays are great. The people and staff are always willing to help and listen to each and everyone."

  • “For months during my chemo treatments, the Chesley program brought meals each week. It was such a help to us and such a positive example to my young daughters. The people there don’t just feed you, they love you, and remind you that there is hope and help for whatever you are facing.”
